Anna Nabila: 1st Birthday

Nabila is already 1 year old! Yesss, she is! See, how time flies? Its just amazing to see how fast she has grown from just a baby who only cry when hungry or when she wet her nappy to a toddler with four cute little tooth started to appear. So yesterday on the 9.12.06 we have organised a party for her (her birthday was on Friday, 8.12.06). Actually its more like a "makan-makan" event plus a Raya gathering eventhough Syawal has passed by. 2 in 1 la lebih korang. So let see how the party was...

~Sebelum Birthday Party~

This was actually a last minute decision. We do not know on wether to hold a party or just to celebrate among the 3 of us. However, after a long thought we decided to make a little something for Nabila to look back in years to come and so we began to work on our guest list. Plus some said the more the merrier, isnt it!? So thats how the decision was made. We are quite lucky because we found someone who was willing to cook some of the food (i have to emphasis on the word some - kang marah pulak chef Lina, hahaha) despite of our very short notice.

Nabila & daddy membersihkan tingkap. Pastu Nabila lepak... pastu Nabila pun bersiap. Pastu Nabila pun tidooor....

Well... while Lina was busy preparing food at the kitchen, the birthday girl and me were busy decorating and arranging the table & chairs at the living room. Funny because it has been many-many years i did not blow balloons. So you can imagine how breathless I was to inflate more than 20 balloons! Lucky Nabila was a much helper! hahaha. Around 12 Nabila felt tired and went to sleep. That left me alone at the living room, once a while i glance at kitchen peeping at Mummy who was fighting with time to prepare pudding, sambal dan mee goreng. Yummy.. you are an excellent chef.. betoi ni. Percayalaaaahhhh.... hehehe. At around 2 pm everything was ready and simultaneously Nabila woke-up and we were just waiting for our guests to come...

Juadah pun dan sedia terhidang begitu jugak dengan party bag untuk budak-budak bawak balik.

~Semasa Birthday Party (2-6 pm)~

Just before our guests arrive Nabila had a "blow-the-candle" rehearsal... hahaha.

Fizan & family was our 1st guest, followed by Nordin & family then Mozak & family and then i started to lost count. Its good that we make it a stretch from 2-6 pm so that people could come staggered. If not.. i just cant imagine how to fit-in all of them in our BIG leaving room! Alhamdulillah, most of our guests turn up and we are glad to see all the happy faces sharing stories and gossips among each other. Oh yeah, after our one month of absent/holiday there are of course lots to catch-up! Hahaha...

Para tetamu yg terpaksa lah pandai-pandai mencari port sendiri. Yg penting makan tau, jgn tak makan.

Mummy tengah busy melayan tetamu... Semua muka tersenyum ceria. Apa la yg digossipkan tu ya????

It was also fun to see all the kids managed to get along among themselves and running here and there. They have turned one of the rooms as their playground and we just dont know what was happening in there. Its oke as long as no one get hurt. Nabila was also very sporting when this time she cry less (almost none) and was able to go along with the crowd. May be she knew that it was her party and she has to behave like a good host! Takdelah nak memerap & bergayut all the time like when she was in Malaysia. Bravo!

Around 3 pm its time for Nabila to cut her Birthday cake. Well, about the cake... it was an instant ready-made cake! At first we thought we would want to book a special cake for Nabila, hence one day before the event we went to the "kedai cake" near our house. Guess what? The "kedai cake" is no longer there, suddenly it dissappeared! We just dont know when it was shut down! Huhuhu... since it was already a last minute event, we dont have much choice but to buy the ready-made one. Kira oke la Nabila ya... Since our guests came in batches, so only few children were present during the cake-cutting ceremony and Uncle Mozak voluntarily led the crowd singing the Happy Birthday theme song for Nabila... thanks.

Oke Nabila... make a wish... satu dua tiga... happy birthday to youuuuuu....

At around 4 pm, i guess, was the peak hour where the living room was full of our guests, thus some have to eat at the stairway. Kelakar pun ada. Around 5 pm mummy started to get worried, it seems like the food was not enough. Ayam goreng dah abis and the mee goreng was almost finish and same goes to nasi impit. But Alhamdulillah, everything went well as when our last guest arrived there were still food, enough to serve them. Kiranya main course takde bazir, just kuah kacang/lodeh and some pudding that we packed for some to tapow. At 6.30 pm the party ended and now left the 3 of us again to do the cleaning...

~Selepas Birthday Party~

Birthday party Nabila dah selesai, jom kita makan pulak , nak???

It was not so much difficult to clean the mess since most of the plates and glasses are disposable. The only thing was to get all the table and chairs back to their original position. But... that can be delay... not a problem kan??? The most important is to vacuum the house because nowadays Nabila's hobby is to pick up things, anything, from the floor and chew!

Selamat Hari jadi Anna Nabila... Mummy & Daddy love you sooooo much...

Well.. after the party ended then only daddy got a chance to take pictures with the birthday girl. Nabila, Mummy & Daddy mendoakan agar Nabila menjadi anak yg solehah, panjang umur, murah rezeki dan dipermudahkan dlm segala urusan. Semoga menjadi kebanggaan Mummy & Daddy serta keluarga kita, juga berjayalah di dunia dan akhirat. Amin.

Nabila ngan hadiah hari jadinya... Pada yg jauh, yg dekat, yg tak lupa Hari Lahir Nabila, terima kasih ya...

Emmm... vacuum, done! ...and Nabila has also taken her bath... so.. its time to open all the presents!!! That night it was so obvious that Nabila was tired and at no time she fell asleep. We hope that all our guests have had a happy time cause we certainly do. Oke lah... akhir sekali, thanks all. Jumpa lagi.
